What key information security risks and vulnerabilities can arise from AI?

The main threat right now is social engineering. Imagine what AI can do by analyzing data posted on social networks with tagged locations from phone apps, combined with stolen or sold data on the black market. It could create a full profile on you. How could that be used? By sending you a phishing email disguised as a pharmacy prescription, a big discount from the exact tire shop you use, or an invitation from your boss for a meeting at the restaurant your company frequently uses for events.

Such phishing emails would be crafted in a way that raises zero suspicions and delivered with perfect timing.

The way to avoid this is by constantly investing in employee education and training—not just the same old, outdated training from three years ago, but training that includes current and relevant case studies.

If your employees become advanced users of AI, they will better understand its risks and opportunities, enabling them to recognize fake emails or prevent the misuse of sensitive data that could be leveraged against your company.
