The power of cross-standard auditing: multi-site, multi-ISO audits

As organizations grow, their processes become more complex, making cross-standard audits more valuable and cost-effective. First, the company only needs one audit instead of 5-6 audits throughout the year. Second, they may have just one auditor for the integrated audit across all 6 ISO standards, resulting in 6 ISO certifications from that single audit.

By combining multiple standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 14001, ISO 22301, ISO 42001), businesses can streamline their management systems and handle various compliance needs at once.

In my audits, I often see the advantages of unified audits: reduced duplication of efforts, consistent reporting, and a more complete view of risks and controls. Cross-standard auditing isn’t just efficient; it’s the future of sustainable business operations.

What’s most fascinating is how different compliance teams come together during these audits, collaborating to integrate quality and information security management into one universal management system.
